The New Lanark Conservation Trust was established in 1974 to preserve the historic village of New Lanark. During its brief existence, the Trust has made major strides in reclaiming New Lanark from almost certain ruin.

The Robert Owen Museum in Newtown, Wales has also made major strides in preserving the memory of the town's most noted native son. Through the efforts of a small group of dedicated local residence, an important part of the historical record of this incredible human being survives today.
